I should probably start a series of these Joe Biden posts, seeing that I’ve got this obsession with the guy and his gaffes. I mean, when it comes to saying incredibly stupid stuff, Joe Biden is king.
Kinda like when he said that it was time for the rich to step up and do their patriotic duty by paying more taxes (when something like the top 10% of wage earners pay 40% of income taxes in this nation). Yep. Getting upset because the federal government picks your pocket, and give over two-thirds of that money away in social spending makes you “unpatriotic”.
Leave it to ‘ole Joe!
Anyways, here’s Biden’s latest in his long list of idiotic statements:
Mark my words, within the next — first six months of this administration, if we win, they’re going to — we’re going to face a major international challenge, ’cause they’re going to want to test him, just like they did John Kennedy, they’re going to want to test him, and they’re going to find out this guy’s got steel in his spine.
One of Obama’s biggest weaknesses is that he’s basically untested. And here’s Joe Biden going around highlighting this for everyone to see. Brilliant. That’s what people want in a post-9/11 world is for the US to be hit again because the president need to be “tested”.
Maybe next time, Joe can compare the economic policies of Barack Obama and Karl Marx to show how “different” they are? (I say this jokingly, as we’ve seen just how few differences there are between the two aforementioned individuals.)
Yes, warning everyone that, because the world perceives Obama as being weak, enemies of the US are going to test American resolve should Obama take office is a real smart strategy. There may be something a bit more Freudian going on here, though. It was only just last year that Joe Biden said the following of his running-mate:
The more people learn about them (Obama and Hillary) and how they handle the pressure, the more their support will evaporate.
Of course, Joe Biden did say this in MSNBC only about a year ago (October 20th, 2007):
The only guy on the other side who’s qualified is John McCain.
In Biden’s defense: this is simply a statement of fact. He’s only voicing the deeply hidden fears rummaging around in the average voter’s head, and – in his own deeply warped way – trying to assuage these apprehensions. Unfortunately, Obama is no JFK; outside of the youth and good looks, there’s no similarity between the two. And I can guarantee you, Joe Biden is no LBJ.
It does make you wonder if Barack Obama is wondering if he can persuade Hillary Clinton to run for VP in the final weeks of his campaign…
