For this installment, let’s focus on the country of origin for Barack Obama’s black heritage. Let’s take a good look at his cousin: Raila Odinga.
Take a look at the following videos (watch them all the way through):
If this does not tell you were Barack Obama’s sentiments lie, I don’t know what will.
I did a little bit of independent verification on some of the accusations leveled in the YouTube videos. Indeed, it appears that Odinga and Obama are related, it not distantly; which is fine. Everyone has a crazy uncle somewhere that they’re not too proud of. But his relation to Odinga isn’t the issue here.
The Memorandum of Understanding (signed by Odinga) did exist, as this Washington Times commentary explains:
Mr. Odinga had the backing of Kenya’s Muslim community heading into the election. For months he denied any ties to Muslim leaders, but fell silent when Sheik Abdullahi Abdi, chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum, appeared on Kenya television displaying a memorandum of understanding signed on Aug. 29, 2007, by Mr. Odinga and the Muslim leader. Mr. Odinga then denied his denials.
The details of the MOU were shocking. In return for Muslim backing, Mr. Odinga promised to impose a number of measures favored by Muslims if he were elected president. Among these were recognition of “Islam as the only true religion,” Islamic leaders would have an “oversight role to monitor activities of ALL other religions [emphasis in original],” installation of Shariah courts in every jurisdiction, a ban on Christian preaching, replacement of the police commissioner who “allowed himself to be used by heathens and Zionists,” adoption of a women’s dress code, and bans on alcohol and pork.
As far as Odinga’s Marxist affiliation?
This was not Mr. Odinga’sfirst brush with notoriety. Like his father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, the main opposition leader in the 1960s and 1970s, Raila Odinga is a Marxist He graduated from East Germany’s Magdeburg University in 1970 on a scholarship provided by the East German government. He named his oldest son after Fidel Castro.
Raila Odinga was implicated in the bloody coup attempt in 1982 against then-President Daniel Arap Moi, a close ally of the United States. Kenya has been one of the most stable democracies in Africa since the 1960s. The ethnic cleansing earlier this year was the worst violence in Kenya since that 1982 coup attempt.
Want another, different source to corroborate this information? How about a recent Newsweek article:
But Odinga’sformative years gave him another crucial advantage: an ability to think outside the bounds of Kenya’s tribal politics. He left home at 15 to attend school in East Germany and eventually returned to Kenya witha master’s degree in mechanical engineering and experience of life on both sides of the Berlin Wall. His Kenyan passport allowed him to pass freely through Checkpoint Charlie, and his friends in the communist East would send him to bring back fancy watches, TVs and other forbidden luxuries from the West. He served as a translator when Louis Armstrong visited the country on an Iron Curtain tour in 1965. And yet a speech by Fidel Castro impressed Odingaso much that years later he would name his firstborn son after the Cuban dictator. “I’ve lived in both sides of the world,” says Odinga. “I’m better placed than most people who only hear about these things in books.” (Today he owns five cars, including a pearl gray Jaguar and a ruby red Hummer.)
He got to know still other sides of the world after he came back to Kenya in 1970. He shuttled between government posts and the opposition, all the while remaining a close friend to Kibaki. Odinga’s life changed again in 1982, when he was jailed for nearly a decade for his alleged role in a coup plot against Kenya’s then dictator, Daniel Arap Moi.
What’s clear is that Obama did campaign for Odinga:
The US Democrat visited Kenya in August and made a speech that was televised live in which he touched on themes not normally debated openly in Kenya, criticising the high-level corruption and the tribal politics that have dominated the country since its 1963 independence from Britain.
Furthermore, you can see a US report of Obama’s support for Odinga in the following YouTube video:
As far as the Memorandum of Understanding? From The Friday Bulletin (September 27th, 2007), IslamKenya’s own publication:
Raila meets NAMLEF officials
Langata MP, Raila Odinga, has expressed gratitude to the Muslim populace and their leadership for supporting him in the recently held ODM nominations.
The ODM presidential candidate accompanied by his Mvita counterpart, Najib Balalaon Tuesday held a one hour consultative meeting with the National Muslim Leaders Forum (NAMLEF) officials at Jamia Masjid.
During the meeting Hon. Raila thanked the leadership and Muslims for their overwhelming support in the Saturday nominations at Kasarani where he emerged victorious.
Hon. Najib Balala, after consultations with NAMLEF, had earlier withdrawn his candidature in favour of Odinga, whom the Muslim leaders said had higher chances of winning the polls.
Prior to the Saturday polls, NAMLEF officials led by the chairman, Abdullahi Abdi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hon. Raila Odinga at a city hotel. The MOU signing was witnessed by among others Hon. Najib Balala and other NAMLEF officials. Speaking to the Friday Bulletin, Farouq Machanje NAMLEF coordinator said, “We are trying to change the situation of Muslims in this country by seeking what rightly belongs to us in the social, economic and political spheres. When ODM makes it to the next government, we want Muslims to notice a radical change for the better and not continue being considered as second class citizens.”
In his acceptance speech last Saturday Raila vowed to ensure Muslims are properly represented and their rights recognized at the national level.
What is the Memorandum of Understanding? That’s a good question. It appears that there are actually two of these floating around. There is the first “published” (leaked) version, and then the “official” version that was released some three months later.
Here’s a few details from the “leaked” version:
b) Within 6 months re-write the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared regions.
c) With immediate effect dismiss the Commissioner of Police who has allowed himself to be used by heathens and Zionists to oppress the Kenyan Muslim community.
d) Disband the imperialist Anti-Terror Police Units (ATPU) that was set up for the sole purpose of terrorizing, harassing, intimidating and deporting innocent Kenyan Muslims to Guantanamo Bay.
f) No Muslim residing in Kenya whether a citizen, visitor or relative of any of the above shall be subject to any process involving the laws of a foreign country and in particular any Muslim arrested for of suspected of Terrorism or any other International crime shall only be tried within the borders of Kenya and shall be granted a competent lawyer of his/her choice at the expense of the Government.
g) Within one year facilitate the establishment of a Shariah court in every Kenyan divisional headquarters. [Note: everywhere in Kenya, not just in “Muslim declared regions.”]
h) Popularize Islam, the only true religion, in the Coast and North Eastern Regions by ordering every primary school in Kenya in the regions to conduct daily Madrassa classes.
i) Impose a total ban on open-air gospel crusades by worshipers of the cross in the Coast and North Eastern regions.
j). Outlaw gospel programs (preaching, purported faith healing, etc.) on KBC, the National Broadcaster.
of course, the Muslims and Odinga claim that the leaked version is a fake. Right. It’s impossible for anyone to believe that Muslims have never forwarded the items I highlighted in any number of Third World nations.
Why do I think the “leaked” version of the MoU is the genuine article? Because of the following The Nation article:
This year, a particularly emotive issue is at work which has put the Kibaki government severely on the defensive: the transfer or “rendition,” of suspected Islamic terrorist to Ethiopia. Related to this are the frequent anti-terrorist police swoops carried out at the Coast which have antagonised many Muslim families. Older issues of alleged discrimination in the issuance of passports and identity cards have also been added to the long list of grievances.
Subsequent to Ethiopia’s military ouster of Somalia’s Islamic Courts Union last December, Kenyan authorities reportedly handed over about two dozen suspected Muslim militants to Ethiopia where they were promptly incarcerated.
Kinda fits nicely with items “d” and “f” in the “fake” version of the MoU, doesn’t it?
If you’ll also recall, Jerome Corsi, author of The Obama Nation, was also detained in Kenya, and then subsequently expelled from that country. I personally don’t think this is just mere coincidence.
Here, once again, we have Barack Obama affiliating himself with a known Marxist, and a person who appears to have allied himself with Muslim terrorists. Furthermore, Odinga is a guy who facilitated riots in his own country because he lost the election.
While I’m not saying that Obama is a Muslim (which is real clear when looking at his affiliations with Wright, Pfleger, and Meeks he isn’t), what IS appearentis that he prefers to back Marxists and people who are more than willing to make deals with Islamic militants and, perhaps, terrorists.
